THC-free CBD is cannabidiol—and it doesn't get you high
A quick reminder that clears up half the confusion. When it comes to hemp, two cannabinoids are at the center of the debate: THC, the one regulated by law, and CBD, or cannabidiol, which doesn’t get you high. Standard CBD sold in France already contains very little THC—well below the permitted 0.3%. THC-free CBD takes this logic to its conclusion: it removes the THC to retain only cannabidiol and, depending on the form, the other molecules found in hemp.
Who is this for? It’s for anyone who wants to use hemp without the problematic compound—for whatever reason—without having to justify it. The rest of the page focuses on just one thing: how to actually achieve that zero content, product by product, and how to verify it before paying.
Isolate, broad-spectrum, full-spectrum: the one thing you need to understand
That's the real key to this category, and almost no one explains it correctly. There are three types of extracts, but only two of them give you truly zero THC.
- CBD isolate. Pure cannabidiol, isolated from everything else: zero THC, but also zero terpenes and no other cannabinoids. It has the most neutral taste and is the easiest to ensure is completely free of THC.
- Broad-spectrum. An extract that retains the other cannabinoids found in hemp— CBG, CBN, CBC, and terpenes—but from which only THC has been removed. This is known as the “entourage effect”: the molecules work together, without THC.
- Full spectrum. It retains everything, including THC, below the legal limit. So it contains traces of THC. Avoid this if your goal is zero.
For true THC-free CBD, you have two options: broad-spectrum CBD to retain the full benefits of hemp without THC, orisolate for the most neutral option. Between broad-spectrum and isolate, it all depends on your preference. Full-spectrum CBD, on the other hand, never contains THC.
Is there really such a thing as CBD with 0% THC?
Type the question into Google, and you'll find just as many "yes" answers as "it's just marketing" ones. We'd rather give you a straight answer.
When it comes to an oil or an extract, yes, the “zero” is real. An oil is derived from an isolate or a broad-spectrum extract—two types of extracts from which THC has been removed beforehand. The THC content is zero, “not detected,” and this is confirmed by a lab analysis. “Zero” isn’t just a slogan—it’s the result of a process.
Not in a flower or raw resin—and no honest person will tell you otherwise. A hemp flower grows with its cannabinoids; we don’t remove them from the living plant. A flower without THC remains below the legal threshold of 0.3 percent, containing traces of THC—it’s not a 0.00 percent product. That’s very little, but confusing “traces” with “zero” is a lie.
So here are three things to keep in mind before paying, whether here or elsewhere. One: look for the words “isolate” or “broad spectrum”; otherwise, there’s no technical reason for the product to be zero. Two: ask to see the lab report—the THC level must be zero or undetectable. Three: be wary of a “0%” label on a flower—it doesn’t exist in the strict sense. Quality, in this case, comes down to the type of extract listed and the accompanying lab report.

Oils, flowers, resins: Which THC-free CBD should you choose?
The format depends on your intended use and your requirements regarding the zero.
- THC-free CBD oils. The most reliable way to ensure it’s truly THC-free: a CBD oil formulated with isolate or broad-spectrum CBD. Easy to dose, discreet. The CBD content and the absence of THC are listed on the product label.
- THC-free CBD flowers. A CBD flower with the lowest THC content—below the legal threshold—often grown indoors. Indoor-grown CBD has a stronger aroma, particularly in strains like Haze. Note: A THC-free flower still contains trace amounts of THC; it is never completely THC-free.
- THC-free CBD resins. For hash lovers, these CBD resins have minimal THC content, with only trace amounts remaining. Like the flower, they aren’t completely THC-free—for that, check out the extracts.

Saliva Tests, Driving, and the Law: What They Won't Tell You
This is the most frequently searched topic, so let’s get straight to the point. A saliva screening test looks for THC, not CBD. A full-spectrum product—even if it’s legal at less than 0.3%—still contains traces of THC that can cause a positive result on a saliva test. An isolate-based or broad-spectrum product, on the other hand, contains no THC: it cannot be the cause of a positive result.
Here's what we won't do: sell you a product as a way to pass a drug test. The rule doesn't depend on the THC content listed on the bottle. Driving after using cannabis is a crime—period. What we're selling you is CBD from which the THC has been removed. As for what the law requires when it comes to driving, that's for the law to decide.
THC-free CBD is legal in France and Europe, as long as the finished product contains less than 0.3% THC. It should not be confused with HHC or HPC, which are other compounds with different legal statuses. The rest of the precautions are non-negotiable:
